Under data protection laws like the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), LIV Inc. is the “controller” or company responsible for handling your personal data.

To use any LIV Product, you need to be at least 13 years old. If you’re under 18, but at least 13, you’ll need permission and supervision from a parent or guardian.
What Information Do We Collect and How?
We collect different types of information from you. Here’s how we get it:
Information You Give Us Directly
- When You Contact Us: If you reach out to us by email, chat, or social media, we might collect details like your contact info, the reason for your message, and any transcripts or recordings of the conversation.
- When You Share Content (Like Videos): If we let you create and share VR videos or other content using any LIV Product, we may collect information like your image, voice, and movements associated with the videos or other content you choose to share.
- When You Stream to Third-Party Platforms: If you choose to connect your LCK experience to a third-party live streaming service (like TikTok, Twitch, or YouTube) via a custom RTMP URL, we may collect and process information necessary to establish and maintain the stream, such as your stream key or server URL. We don’t collect your account credentials for these platforms.
Information We Collect Automatically
We also collect info automatically when you use our services, like:
- Device and Game Info: We keep track of which VR headset you’re using, which game you’re playing with our LCK (and which version of the game), the name of the game developer, and a random code that’s linked to your device or app. This code doesn’t tell us who you are.
- Location Data: Depending on how the game is set up, we might collect information about the area you’re in, like your city.
- Meta User profile: When you choose to log in with a Meta account we may use your Meta User ID, username, and profile picture. This information is used to provide you services, personalization, and app functionality. It is not shared or sold to third parties.
- Your Activity: We track how you use our products, such as which games you play and for how long.
- Crash Reports and Errors: If the app or device crashes, we collect basic information about what went wrong to help us fix bugs.
- Streaming Metadata: If you initiate a live stream using a custom RTMP setup, we may collect metadata about the stream session such as stream start/end time, resolution, bitrate, and performance diagnostics to help improve stability and user experience.
- Purchase Metadata from Meta: If you make a purchase through Meta’s platform, we may receive information like the time of purchase and which product was bought. We do not receive your full billing or payment information.
How We Use Your Info
We use the information set out above to:
- Fix bugs and make our products even better;
- Understand how you and others use our products, so we can improve them;
- Manage early access tests (like beta testing) and collect feedback;
- Respond to your questions and listen to your feedback and suggestions;
- Protect you and other users from any harmful activities or mis-use of our services; and
- Meet any other goals we tell you about when we collect your info.

Who We Share Your Personal Data With
Sometimes, we might share your personal data, including with:
- Other LIV Inc. companies: We may share your data with other companies connected to us (like parent companies or subsidiaries).
- Service Providers: We might share your info with companies that help us with things like hosting or storage services.
- Live Streaming Platforms: When you initiate a live stream via RTMP, your data is sent to the streaming platform you chose. While we facilitate this connection, we do not control how that platform uses your data.
- If we Sell or Merge with Another Company: If something big happens like a merger or sale, your info might be shared with the new company.
- When the Law Requires it: If we’re asked by a court or another authority, we may need to share your data to follow the law or protect our rights.
- With your Permission: Sometimes, we might ask if it’s okay to share your personal data in a certain way. If you say yes, we’ll go ahead and share it that way.
- Platform Providers like Meta: When you make a purchase, it’s processed by Meta, who may share limited information with us so we can fulfill your order. Meta’s handling of your payment and billing data is subject to their own privacy policy.
We might also share information that doesn’t personally identify you, such as overall usage statistics (e.g., how many people have used the LIV product, how many recordings have been made). We typically share aggregate information like this with our developer community and business partners.
Live Streaming and Third-Party Platforms
When you choose to stream your content using a custom RTMP URL, you are directing us to transmit your live video and audio data to that external service. This may include your image, voice, username (if displayed), gameplay, and chat overlay, depending on what you choose to broadcast.
We do not control how TikTok, Twitch, YouTube, or any other third-party platform handles your data once it is streamed to them. Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review those policies before connecting your stream.
We do not monitor, record, or store the content of your live streams unless explicitly stated (e.g., if recording or replay features are enabled).
Our Legal Bases for Using Your Data
Sometimes, the law requires us to explain why we handle your data. Here’s why we do it:
- Legitimate Interests: In most cases, we handle your personal data because it’s important for things like:
Giving you the best service
Marketing and advertising
Improving our business
Legal and ethical Matters - Contractual Obligations: We also process data to meet the agreements we make with you, like when you sign up for LIV Inc. services.

Your Rights and Choices
You will be able to:
- Ask to see your personal data
- Request updates to it
- Request deletion
- Ask us to stop processing your data in certain situations.
- Ask us to not sell or share your personal data (but just so you know, we don’t sell or share the data we collect when you use the LCK, as those terms are legally understood).
If you want to request any of this, contact us at privacy@liv.tv and we’ll do our best to help.
Children
We don’t intentionally collect personal data from children under 13. If you’re a parent or guardian and think your child gave us personal data without your permission, let us know at privacy@liv.tv.
Your Controls & Settings
You can choose whether or not to stream to a third-party platform. If you do, it’s your responsibility to ensure the stream URL and credentials are accurate and shared securely.
Payment and Billing Information
If you purchase access to premium LIV features (like live streaming), your payment will be processed by Meta Platforms, Inc. (or its local affiliate), using the Meta payment system (such as the Meta Quest Store).
We do not collect or store your payment method details, such as your credit card number or billing address. That information is handled directly by Meta, and their use of your data is governed by Meta’s Privacy Policy.
We may receive limited information from Meta about your purchase, such as a transaction ID, product purchased, and the time of the transaction. We use this information to enable access to the purchased feature, for customer support, and to manage our business operations.
Third-Party Game and App Developers
LIV and LCK SDK are made to work with other games and apps. Our Privacy Notice doesn’t cover those games or apps. Some games or apps you use that include the LIV or LCK SDK may also collect or share your information. Make sure to check their privacy notices to understand how they handle your info.
Where Your Data Goes
Your data might be stored and processed in the United States or in other countries where LIV Inc. operates. Some of these countries might have different data protection laws, but we take steps to make sure to keep your data safe wherever it goes.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We only keep your personal data as long as necessary for our services or to meet legal requirements. Once it’s no longer needed, we may anonymize or delete it.
How We Protect Your Data
We use security measures to protect your personal data from being lost or mis-used. But remember, no system is 100% secure, so there’s always a small risk when sharing personal data online.
